Symposium on “Slope Safety Monitoring and Early Warning” which organized by Direcção dos Serviços de Solos, Obras Públicas e Transportes (DSSOPT), Instituto para os Assuntos Cívicos e Municipais (IACM) and Civil Engineering Laboratory of Macau (LECM), co-organized by Macao Association of Building Contractors and Developers (MABCD), Macau Construction Association (MCA), The Macau Institution of Engineers (AEM) and Macau Association of Geotechnical Engineering (MAGE) was successfully held on 2 September, 2010 at the Macau Cultural Centre.

We were pleased to invite the experts from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and LECM colleagues as our speakers. The topics were mentioned as follow:

● Technique for Slope Safety Monitoring and Early Warning - Prof. Chiang Tak Shan (Shangai Jiao Tong University)

● Current State and Future Direction of Macau Slope Safety - Eng. Leong Hong Sai & Eng. Shen Qian (LECM)

The response of this symposium was overwhelming and it attracted many people from Macau construction industry. It was believed to strengthen our understanding and increase our technical skills of related item.
