• Building Public Component Inspection

Buildings will gradually deteriorate along their ages without proper  maintenance. Recently, there is a great social concern on the repair  of old buildings in Macau. LECM has provided inspection service  to Macau Government on the public components of buildings, such  as car park, corridor, stair case, roof, external wall facade, water  supply and drainage pipe lines. Defects of those public components  will be identified and reported for repair consideration, such as  delamination of wall tiles, concrete cracking, spalling and corrosion  of steel reinforcement bars, corrosion and leakage problem of water  supply and drainage pipe lines, damages and corrosion of water tank  facilities, waterproofi ng conditions of building roof. 

• Building water leakage inspection
  

Water Leakage in buildings is an annoyance problem as this will  infl uence not only the fl at of leakage origins, but also the adjacent and lower fl ats. LECM provided water leakage inspection service  to Macau Government by using non-destructive test method, such  as microwave moisture meter mapping, colour dye and fl uorescence  dye water spraying and ponding tests, infrared scanning etc. In  future, more different types of NDT will be introduced depending  on their feasibility and applicability.  

• Aluminum Window Testings

Aluminum windows are common and important components of  buildings, which function as a barrier against winds and rains.  Therefore, the structural and permeability performance of an  aluminum window system are the most critical concern especially  during typhoon attack. 1:1 aluminum window mock-up test under  wind load has been established in LECM recently. It is for the  verification of the performance of the aluminum window under  the design wind load, such as air permeability, watertightness and  wind load resistance. Moreover, the material performance and  the installation workmanship can also be verified in these tests.  Besides, the durability performance of aluminum windows will be  considered in the coming future, such as the cyclic opening and  closing.
