Seminar on Application of Composite Structures which organized by Macau Laboratory of Civil Engineering (LECM), Macao Association of Building Contractors and Developers (MABCD), Macau Construction Association (MCA) and The Macau Institution of Engineers (AEM), sponsored by Science and Technology Development Fund was successfully held on 26 April, 2008 at the auditorium of Science and Technology Development Fund. We were pleasure to invite Prof. Nie Jiangu, (Department of Civil Engineering, Tsinghua University) as the speaker.

During the conference, we introduced the advantage, principle, development and prospect of steel-concrete composite structure. Case studies on the application of the steel-concrete composite structure in architectures, bridges and reinforcement and reconstruction for structures. Comparison on steel-concrete composite structure with steel and reinforced concrete structure. Research and development on application of steel-concrete composite structures.

This seminar was generally welcomed. Many participants took part in the seminar and the response was overwhelming.
