A 40-member delegation from a Conference on Geological Experiment Testing Technology and Economic Co-operation in the Central-south region of China, led by Mr. Li Jin Lun of Guangdong Material Experiment Testing Center, visited LECM on 2nd June 2006 and was warmly received by the LECM President of the Board of Directors Mr. Ao Peng Kong, the Chief of DG (Geotechnical Department) Mr. Leong Hong Sai, the Chief of NFP (Center of Foundation and Prospecting) Mr. Shen Qiang and the Chief of NSP (Center of Soil and Pavement) Ms. Ge Juping. The purpose of this visit was chiefly to understand the operational concept, business development, advance management and science research of LECM so as to exchange views on these aspects. As a matter of fact, this visit was part of the program scheduled for the “2006 Conference on Geological Experiment Testing Technology and Economic Co-operation in the Central-south region of China”, organized by Guangdong Material Experiment Testing Center. President Ao Peng Kong gave a briefing on the operational situation of LECM, including the organizational structure, field and laboratory testing in the field of Civil Engineering, quality control and quality assurance service for Macau Government projects, product certification activities, staff training, internet and intranet, and spoke of the new office building. The delegation was impressed with the speech of the President and also showed great interest in the developments by raising many questions. After briefing, the delegation visited each department and center escorted by Leong Hong Sai, Shen Qiang and Ge Juping. Later, it was also arranged for their visit to the Construction Material Department (DMC) in Taipa.
