The main duties of Center of Informatics (CI) are to secure all the information in the computer networks, to maintain tests and the computer networks of LECM working properly, of which include: responsible for the security, organizing, management and updating work of the LECM intranet and confidentiality of electronic documents; responsible for protecting and keeping secure the test/calibration data; to perform back-up of electronic records being kept by departments/centers regularly; and to keep all electronic documents and records .

For the purpose of protecting the integrity, security and confidentiality of computer resources (software, hardware and data), CI has established a comprehensive computer security management measure for protection against modification, damage or unauthorized use of data, as well as hardware stolen and data disclosure. The computer administrators periodically backup the data files from computers and servers of Macau office and Taipa laboratory, and save the backup data to CD-ROM and store in a safe deposit box at a bank. Simultaneously, each test center backups the data on a weekly basis, which attained double-protection function.
