On 3rd June 2006, International Symposium on Advances in Laboratory Testing of Geomaterials was held in Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Five of our members from LECM had attended this symposium. Our president, Eng. Ao Peng Kong, was the member of the Organizing Committee of the Symposium for organizing and arranging this symposium. Eng. Henrique Novais Ferreira was invited to hold study activities, including introduction of speakers and chair for Q&A session. The objective of this symposium is to provide a forum for researchers and engineers to meet together and share new idea, achievements and experience on laboratory testing of geomaterials. All members in TC29 and other prominent scholars, researchers and engineers in the field from the world were invited to attend the symposium. During the symposium, all the members friendly shared their experience and discussed various issues. After that, the representative of the Department of Civil and Structural Engineering of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University led the members to visit their laboratories.
