The seminar of the Pile Prediction Event in Residual Soil in FEUP, Porto, Insight Learning from the Results of Vertical Loaded Pile Tests was organized by Civil Engineering Laboratory of Macau (LECM), Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Macau and Macau Association for Geotechnical Engineering. It was held on 28 March, 2008 at the 2nd Hall of University of Macau. Invited Pro. António Viana da Fonseca from Universidade do Porto as the speaker.

In the seminar, Prof. António Viana da Fonseca used the simplify method to evaluate the pile tip residual resistance, and by numerical model to simulate the load vs. settlement curve to evaluate the shaft friction and tip resistance.

Through this seminar, it can strengthen our understanding of the mentioned problems and increase our technical skills.
